Photography can be a hobby anyone can get into, but there are so many things you need to know that it could start to feel overwhelming. Here are some beginner tips for taking snapshots of nature.
Bring proper equipment
Bring the right equipment with you for taking photos outdoors from your condo at Skye at Holland. If you don’t have equipment and can’t hold the camera steady when taking photos, you could be resourceful with the objects found in nature, like a tree branch or a large rock, to serve as a stand.
Learn the basics
Learning the basics of photography if you want to have quality photos is essential. Things like lighting and exposure play an important part in getting a great snapshot. Take the time to learn these and see how you can apply them yourself when you are taking photos in nature to get better results.
Rule of thirds
A golden rule in photography- the rule of thirds, is where you place the subject of your photo in one square or within intersecting lines. The image is divided into 9 sections equally with symmetrical horizontal and vertical lines for a vibrant photo.
Keep practicing
Just keep putting in time and practice with your camera and enjoy taking photos. Try new settings, conditions, and get creative with it! Whenever you get a good photo and capture the moment, keep it. This helps you motivate yourself to continue practicing to improve, which will eventually become evident in the photos you take.
Try different angles
Changing the angle, direction and position of your image can give a whole new image, compared to taking a photo where you just stand up from where you are and simply take the photo. The perspective and creative angles, whether high, low, or a wide shot, can make for a great photo in nature.
