It is important we stay cool to minimize the risk of heat strokes, regulate our body temperature, and prevent any dizziness from happening, resulting in potentially much more dangerous conditions. Here are some ways to keep cool in your new living space at One Chuan Grove.
Cold Drinks
Enjoy a cold drink on a hot day to keep your body cool. Pure water, infused or coconut water, smoothies and fruit juices can help you comfortably meet your goal for daily intake of fluids. Proper hydration can also reduce the risk of cramps, helps us stay sharp mentally, cleanses our body, and aids with digestion.
No Heavy Cooking
When in use, appliances such as stoves and ovens can make indoor temperatures soar as well as humidity, making your home hotter than it is. If possible try to avoid heavy cooking and prepare lighter meals, but if not, make sure that you are getting proper ventilation by opening a window or door at home to let the hot air out, letting in cool air.
Air Conditioning/Fans
Turn on your fan or air conditioner during moments of the day where the heat is at its hottest. Pair with electric fans to circulate air and maximize cooling and energy efficiency. You can use a portable hand fan too. To release trapped heat indoors and ventilation, allow for proper airflow by opening windows in cooler moments of the day, which is likely to be morning or night.
Block Out the Heat
Use blackout curtains and cover other windows that don’t have curtains around them with greenery to minimize the solar heat that gets into your home. Do this when the daytime temperature is at its highest.
These strategies combined can create a more comfortable environment at home while you stay cool during the hot season.
